ANVIL Arts’ spring season is now on sale with tickets to the shows making the perfect Christmas present.

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra kicks things off at The Anvil on January 18 with an enjoyable programme that includes Mozart, J and C Stamitz, and Dvo?ák.

The following week, enjoy songs from The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables, The Lion King, and Blood Brothers when Beyond the Barricade returns with a show packed full of musical favourites.

The Russian State Ballet and Orchestra of Siberia perform three ballets over three days at The Anvil at the beginning of February - The Snow Maiden, The Nutcracker and Swan Lake.

Each ballet is a favourite – The Snow Maiden set in the snow covered landscape of Russia, with The Nutcracker in which the toys spring to life and Swan Lake, the greatest romantic ballet of all time, brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score.

Don’t miss the tragic tale of searing passion and memorable music when Verdi’s La Traviata is performed on February 11. Based on a true story, it tells of the passionate loves and life of the consumptive courtesan, Violetta. The highlights include the Brindisi, the best known drinking song in opera, and Violetta’s haunting aria Addio Del Passato. The magnificent production boasts sumptuous sets and costumes, and is sung in Italian with English surtitles.

Enjoy a romantic evening with Carl Davis and the Philharmonia Orchestra on February 14, in a concert of movie music that overflows with some of the most unforgettable love songs of all time. Love Stories from the Silver Screen includes music from Love Story, Gone with the Wind, La La Land, West Side Story, Dr Zhivago, Mamma Mia, Romeo and Juliet, among many more; perfect for Valentine’s Day.

On April 13, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra perform the award-winning score from the film Jaws. Watch the original summer blockbuster in full whilst the orchestra performs the entire score that made John Williams a household name, in sync with this masterpiece of suspense. Jaws in Concert is not to be missed.

Jimmy Osmond performs the official Andy Williams tribute Moon River and Me on February 22. Full of award-winning music, nostalgic footage and special memories of Andy Williams, who gave The Osmonds their big break with into showbusiness.

Comedians Jon Richardson, on February 23, and Ed Byrne, on March 10, return to The Anvil; best-selling author, photographer and television presenter Levison Wood brings his one-man show on February 25; singer songwriter Paul Carrack makes a welcome return on March 9; and Jason Donovan comes to The Haymarket on March 22 with his autobiographical Amazing Midlife Crisis Tour with exciting stories and a few acoustic songs too.
