THE work of a local young artist will go on display in town next month.

Liam Hipple, who is 23, is a traditional fine artist and illustrator.

He will showcase his latest pen and ink illustrations in Proteus Creation Space, Council Road, from November 3-15.

The work in the exhibition depicts Gothic cathedrals, street scenes and some European cities, including Winchester, Venice and Sicily.

Liam, who lives in Kempshott and works out of a studio at Basing View, is a former student of Brighton Hill Community College and QMC. He also attended Bath Spa University, where he studied traditional fine art.

He said: “The theme of this exhibition is to study and understand perspective within architectural drawing and to improve my skills.

“All illustrations have been completed with intricate layers of India ink drawn with a dip pen or with a range of drawing pens.

“I will exhibiting 12 original framed and mounted illustrations and some of my commissioned work will also be on show.”

The exhibition’s official opening night takes place on Tuesday, November 3 from 6.30pm - 9pm.
