LEARN about the history of Whitchurch Silk Mill at a forthcoming talk in Basingstoke Discovery Centre.
Silk has been woven at Whitchurch Silk Mill for almost 200 years, originally using water power to drive the looms.
Fabric such as organza, taffeta, and satin are woven for clothing, entertainment industries and for interior designers.
Experience the texture and weave of these yarns and fabrics yourself, after a pictorial presentation of the Mill and its history.
The talk takes place on Tuesday, September 8 in the Festival Place library.
It starts at 2pm, and tickets are £3.
To book a ticket, contact the Discovery Centre on 01256 478670, or purchase a ticket in person from the Discovery Centre information desk.
