TWO talented local dancers have won the International Dance Teachers Association UK Street Champions 2013 award.

Fourteen year-olds Austen Champion and Morgan Sadler competed at the south east finals in Bracknell where they were named south east champions. They went forward to represent the area at the recent finals in Stoke where they won this top prize.

Austen and Morgan are both pupils of Basingstoke’s Footsteps Dance School, which is based in Essex Road.   

In addition, Austen, who attends The Hurst Community School and lives in Monk Sherborne, became UK runner up in his solo. Both Austen and Morgan, who attends Aldworth Science College and lives in Brighton Hill, were part of a quad with Ciara Smallbone and Carys England which came fifth.

Janine Sadler, principal of Footsteps, said: “These were amazing achievements. I am delighted that the kids were recognised for their fantastic work ethic and great friendship.”
