POLICING issues: It seems that we are in very real danger of losing our excellent policeman, PC Andy Reid. New measures are being put in place for rural policemen to be replaced by police community service officers.
They will have no police authority – effectively a uniformed Neighbourhood Watch representative.
A meeting has been called to discuss this with officials. This will take place at Herriard Royal British Legion Hall (RG25 2PG) this Saturday, at 10am.
We need to fill that hall. There is now also a petition at you.38 degrees.org.uk/ p/PCC.
DICK Whittington: Tickets are selling like hot cakes for Dick Whittington, on December 12, at 8pm, and December 13, at 2.30pm and 8pm. Tickets are £8.50 for adults and £1 for children, from Jo on 07528 856157, or pop in to see Tracey at Pots To Doodle Do.
