THE Basingstoke Festival of Art and Crafts: Started by Councillor Martin Biermann, when he was Mayor, this event is now being repeated, and hopefully will happen on an annual basis.
This year, it will be held on Saturday (11am to 6pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm) at The Hampshire Court Hotel. It will encompass professional and amateur local artists’ paintings, photography and craft work.
Most of the work will be for sale and proceeds will be split equally between The Ark Cancer Centre Charity, Basingstoke Young Carers and Basingstoke Dial-a-Ride. Entry is free, and there will be a raffle of artwork.
ChiPPs Reading Group: Meets next Wednesday, 10am to 11am. This is an adults’ reading group, but you can take your children along. This month’s book is The Mystery of Mercy Close by Marian Keyes.
CAR Boot Sale at Four Lanes Community Centre: This coming Saturday, 2pm to 4pm (sellers from 1pm). Sellers cars £5 per pitch.
CHINEHAM Parish Council: The next meeting is on Monday from 7.45pm in the Chineham Village Hall Community Rooms.
