GROUP Sax: Play in Silchester parish church on Saturday, with a concert for children at 3.30pm. Entitled Come Fly with Me it includes Disney, Star Wars, Dr Who and more. Adults £5, children free. BOUNDARY Walk: Led by Robina Rand, and 27 church and Silchester Association members plus various dogs walked the village boundary following ancient custom and had a picnic lunch at Haines Farm.
HALLOWE’EN: Celebrate at The Calleva Arms on Friday, October 31.
BONFIRE and Fireworks: On Saturday, November 1, in the field behind Silchester House, starting at 6pm. Tickets available from The Calleva Arms and Jays Stores, in Pamber Heath. Cost (before the day) adults £7, children £3.50, family (four) £18.
