WELL done Mayor Dan: Hatch Warren and Beggarwood councillor Dan Putty finished his year as Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane last week at the annual council meeting as he handed over to this year’s incumbent, Roger Gardiner.

As part of the evening, a film was shown detailing some of the many visits and charity events which Dan and his wife Julie undertook as part of the mayoral year.

AWARD for Gordon: As part of his final meeting as mayor, Cllr Putty presented special awards to members of the public. Hatch Warren resident Gordon Piper, stalwart of the community centre, received a Mayor’s Award for all his work in the local community over many years.

ROCK Challenge: Dancers from Brighton Hill Community School will be competing in the finals of the Rock Challenge national dance competition on June 19 in Portsmouth. The theme of the dance is Cluedo. Good luck to all local students taking part.
