TWO supermarkets have lent their support to an Easter appeal.

There is a little over a week left to join the Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores in Festival Place in helping out the annual Access Self Storage Basingstoke Easter appeal which this year is in aid of North Hampshire Medical Fund.

All donations collected will be given to the store’s nominated charity for 2018, which raises funds for advanced medical equipment for Basingstoke hospital that is outside of the NHS budget, to raffle off to raise money.

Access Self Storage Basingstoke store manager Mike Blaszkowicz, whose team collected 160 chocolate eggs for the Frimley Park Hospital Children’s Ward in last year’s appeal, said: “It’s brilliant to see the community rallying for this great cause and even in the snow people are managing to get eggs to us, we have had an incredible start with over 100 eggs already and now Tesco and Sainsbury’s at Festival Place have gone above and beyond to help by allowing us to set up collection boxes at their stores.”

Donations can be dropped off at the reception of the store in Rankine Road before Monday, when a delivery will be made to the fund in time for Easter.
