AN art gallery in Odiham was clearly in the frame for a national award.

The Frame Gallery won Art Retailer of the Year at the Art and Framing Awards, held in Harrogate.

It was organised by the Fine Art Trade Guild, a trade association for the art and framing industry.

The business was recognised for its outstanding service to customers and artists who exhibit their work at the gallery.

Gallery owner Jan Baker is thrilled to receive the award.

She said: “It feels wonderful to be recognised nationally as a leading art retailer. We work very hard to support our artists and to keep everything we do at The Frame fresh and exciting for customers.”

Known for its unrivalled selection of paintings by local artists, The Frame features work by Jean Haines, Jake Winkle, Sarah Pye, Richard Pikesley, and the internationally acclaimed wildlife artist, Pip McGarry, whose exhibition at The Frame last year led to six figure sales.

The gallery, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this month, is expanding its High Street premises, with the opening of two lifestyle showrooms later this summer.

During this process, the building has undergone dendrochronology testing and is currently awaiting carbon dating results to confirm if it dates back as far as the 1400s.

Showcasing the best of lifestyle and living, each showroom will sell textiles, home accessories, lighting, furniture, and of course art.

Looking forward to the launch of the showrooms and continuing to draw art lovers to Odiham., Jan said: “The future is very bright indeed.”
