A NEW home care service has been loaned two nifty little runners thanks to City Motor Holdings.

It is just another way for the company that runs The Autoplaza just off the Houndmills Roundabout, in Basingstoke, to support St Michael’s Hospice.

The brand new SEAT Mii I-Tech and the Skoda Citigo SE will be used by staff working for the charity’s St Michael’s Home Care, which started operations in April.

Registered manager Dariusz Motyka, was over the moon with the two vehicles.

He said: We’ll be using these super cars to deliver our care services – they will be a wonderful help, and with the branding, kindly provided by City Motor Holdings, they will also help spread more awareness of the home care service and the hospice.

St Michael’s Home Care marketing manager Chris Griffiths who accompanied Dariusz in picking up the keys for the cars, at the SEAT and Skoda dealership at The Autoplaza, said: “We hope to have an ongoing relationship with such a popular local business.

“The corporate support we get from companies like City Motor Holdings is invaluable.

“At the end of the day we rely on the support of the community and from our corporate friends for the services we offer.”

Chris explained that profits generated from St Michael’s Home Care will be reinvested into St Michael’s Hospice.

As a subsidiary of hospice, the new home care service is available to those over 18 who may or may not have a life limiting illness and who requires care at their home.

Ian Potter, general sales manager at the City Skoda dealership, said: “We recently agreed to be one of the main sponsors for St Michael’s Big Wheel event and we thought how else can we help the hospice?

“We thought it would be great to give St Michael’s an opportunity to have full use of the cars.

“They don’t have to pay anything for them other than getting them insured and fuelled.

“They are basically demonstrator vehicles.

“They’d either be used as courtesy cars or we’d have them sitting here as static demos.

“We’ll keep the arrangement on a three month rolling contract.

“After three months we’ll bring them back in and have them changed.”

Commenting on the SEAT Mii I-Tech and the Skoda Citigo SE, which retail for £10,000 and £9,500 respectively, Ian said: “These are really good little runners and offer great value.

“They have low CO 2 emissions, low car tax and are good on fuel economy – they should match exactly what St Michael’s require.”

City Motor Holdings are also donating 25p for every entry it receives for its Win a Supercar for a Weekend competition, when entries are received via the St Michael’s Hospice shops The competition can be found in the company’s Autoplaza magazine which is available in stores in and around Basingstoke.
