KANCARE’S Coffee Club will participate in the Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event today, serving and selling cakes between 10am and 11am at the Basingstoke Rugby Football Club. Everyone is welcome.

BASINGSTOKE Horticultural Society: The next monthly meeting takes place on Monday, at 7.30pm at Kempshott Village Hall. The speaker will be Derek Donnison-Morgan, and he will be speaking about the flora of Madeira. For more details, please contact 01256 322104.

BONFIRES: Are again becoming a nuisance. We do not live in a smokeless zone. However, a little bit of consideration for neighbours is a must! At this time of year residents expect to be able to leave their windows open (if they are home), hang out their washing and enjoy our summer weather in their gardens. It is not amusing when an inconsiderate neighbour starts a fire and they have to rush around closing the windows, taking in the washing and retreat indoors.

KANCARE Coffee Club trip: Last Friday, Kancare Coffee Club members enjoyed their annual outing to the seaside. The coach left the rugby club car park at 10am for the drive down to Bournemouth.
