BASINGSTOKE Town completed a league double over Biggleswade Town, as they came from behind to win 2-1.

The Dragons made one change to the side which thrashed Tiverton last weekend 6-2 as Charlie Kennedy replaced Ashleigh Artwell, as he returned after serving a three match ban.

It was the home side who started the better and they opened the scoring after four minutes from Robbie Parker.

They then went close again, but this time Colm McAdden came up with the save to keep the score 1-0.

Visiting striker Callum Bunting then hit the post with a shot and soon after Sam Argent had an effort blocked.

However, just seven minutes before the interval, Basingstoke levelled things as Bunting headed home a Jack McKnight cross.

After the interval, George Bennett fired wide for the visitors, and on the 70 minute mark Bunting doubled his tally for the game and gave the Dragons a 2-1 lead.

The home side went looking for an equaliser and McAdden did well to tip over Connor Hall’s shot and then Craig Daniels hit the post.

Basingstoke so nearly added a third thanks to a solo run from Sam Smart, but his effort hit the bar.

The victory saw Town move up to 13th in the table and on Tuesday night they are away at Banbury.
