ODIHAM tennis ace Ryan Golesworthy ended an amazing summer of tennis by winning the under-16 title in the Hampshire County Closed held at the Winchester tennis club.

The best of Hampshire’s tennis players gathered to compete during a week of glorious sunshine.

Having won the 14s singles and doubles titles last year, Golesworthy decided to play in the next age group, the under 16s.

Seeded four in the tournament Golesworthy beat Ben Fox 6-4, 6-3.

He then eased past Dylan Allenby-Ryan 6-2, 6-1 to set up a semi final against James Blair.

In a tough match Golesworthy took the first set 6-3 and then had to battle back from being 4-0 down to win the second set 6-4.

In the final Golesworthy beat Henry Bowden 6-3, 6-1 to add yet another County Championship to his list of titles. In the under 18s doubles Golesworthy teamed up with Jake Norris where they knocked out the number two seeds before losing to the number one seeds in the final.
