OLD Basing A have got off to a good start in the Basingstoke and District Tennis League Men's Division One with two wins in their first two matches against Beechdown A 6-2 and Oakley A 8-0.

James Chamberlain/Rob Still and Phil Dixon/Mark Hammond made up their winning team against Oakley. Totally Tennis A have recorded a win, 6-2 against Andover A with James McIntosh/Simon James winning all their sets, and a draw with Oakley A.

The Andover A team of Andrew Winnett/Ant Brown and Martyn Isherwood/Robbie Hadfield beat their B side 8-0 and Aldermaston A also beat the Andover B team 6-2 with Nigel Bailey and Dave Bull getting a maximum. RSF B lead the way in Division Two after a 5-3 win at Preston Candover and a 7-1 result against Kingsclere with Kevin Still and Michael Renwick being unbeaten.

Nick Baldwin and Chris Pugh gave Goodworth Clatford A a winning start with a 6-2 score against Odiham A. Waverley A beat Preston Candover 5-3 with Perveez Mirza and Malcolm McPhail winning all their sets but they then lost by the same score to Hampshire Court A.

Dave and Liam Bisson were unbeaten for Odiham A in their 6-2 win at Kingsclere B.

In Division Three, Totally Tennis B have dropped just the one set in their first three matches after 8-0 wins against Hook and Odiham B and 7-1 at Waverley B. Rex Groves and Tim Rice are unbeaten in those matches.

Goodworth Clatford B beat Odiham B 7-1 with Richard Hancock and Adam Strachan being unbeaten.

Waverley B went down 5-3 to Beechdown B and drew with BDH thanks to a maximum from John McKay and Tim Clist.

Division Four sees Oakley B and Winchester B at the top after two wins apiece. Oakley B beat their C team 8-0 and won 7-1 at Hampshire Court B with Andy Reddy and Mario Swehee being unbeaten.

The Winchester team of Ian Chisham/Al Taylor and Andrew Shepherd/Peter Bernie beat Hampshire Court B 8-0 with their second win being a 6-2 result against Beechdown C.

Mortimer A beat Beechdown C 5-3 while the Mortimer B team won 6-2 against Oakley C with Jeremy Palmer and Mark Eastwood winning all their sets.

Iain Cameron and Scott Davies-Hearn were unbeaten for Aldermaston B in their 7-1 win against Hartley Wintney and Hampshire Court B beat Oakley C 8-0.
