NEWLY-FORMED rugby club Odiham and Hook played their first games at Overton RFC's FestOval event.
Teams from across England, as well as Scotland, France and Belgium, competed in the event, and Odiham and Hook played in the opening fixture, taking on the hosts.
Overton were too strong, but the new team went on to beat a French side and Tewkesbury before losing their final game.
However, they did enough to earn third place in the tournament, a pleasing result considering that the side had been drawn up from scratch, having only managed one training session.
