Manager Brian Dutton watched Salisbury cruise into the FA Cup second round for the first time with a 6-0 thrashing of Sholing after a brace by Nathan Odokonyero.

The National League South club had to be patient before Odokonyero’s smart 31st-minute finish opened the floodgates.

Josh Hedges won and converted a penalty before Jeremy Sivi’s goal with six minutes of the first half left ensured it was 3-0 at the break.

Heroics in goal by Jack Turner ensured the seventh tier outfit only trailed by three, but Odokonyero grabbed his second after 53 minutes with a lofted finish before late efforts by Luke Russe and Jaiden Bartolo helped Salisbury finish with a flourish.
