Amari Morgan-Smith’s first goal for Halifax earned his side a 1-0 win at Wealdstone, their first National League away victory this season.
The former Luton striker, a summer signing from Kidderminster, struck the decisive goal in the 58th minute after coming off the bench at the interval as the Shaymen climbed to ninth in the table.
After a goalless first period, the visitors made the breakthrough when Will Hugill raced on to a through-ball and, when his effort was saved, Ben Tollitt picked out Morgan-Smith to steer the ball home from close range.
Halifax midfielder Cody Johnson went close to doubling his side’s lead in the closing stages when his shot from outside the area was well saved by Wealdstone goalkeeper Dante Baptiste.
