Carlisle had to settle for a point at home for the second time in four days as they were held 1-1 by Forest Green at Brunton Park.
The Cumbrians, beginning their second season in the fifth tier, fell behind in the first half to Rovers midfielder Kyle Kelly’s header, but Micah Obiero rescued a point for home side.
Carlisle’s strong appeals for a penalty inside the first 60 seconds were waved away after Teddy Jenks went tumbling in the area and Forest Green took an eighth-minute lead soon after when Kelly glanced home Jayden Clarke’s whipped-in cross.
The Cumbrians restored parity before half-time. Jenks pounced on some poor defending in the visitors’ box and the ball broke for Obiero to smash home a 29th-minute equaliser.
