REPUBLIC of Chineham shocked Basingstoke and District League Division One leaders Tron with a fifth minute goal by Wayne Finn, fired into the net from outside the area.

It was 20 minutes into the game before Tron replied, Ross Cook linking up well with brother Harry Cook, before Ross tapped in from 10 yards.

Tron's next goal was less direct, involving 10 dazzling passes before Dave Parry put Tron ahead before the interval.

The second half was close, with few chances by either side but, on 74 minutes, Jesse Todd beat Republic's offside trap to secure a 3-1 win.
