REX Porter hit a century as Hartley Wintney II beat local rivals Hook and Newnham Basics III by 60 runs in Hampshire Cricket League County Division Three North.

Batsman Porter made 104 as Hartley, who are struggling near the foot of the table, reached 237-9. Will Buckingham hit 50 in the Hook reply, but the hosts were bowled out for 177.

Table-topping Hobos lost their 100 per cent record but remain unbeaten after a dramatic tie away at Fair Oak II.

The hosts finished their innings on 224-8 and while Ahmed Khan made 68 and Imbrad Ghouse 54, Hobos could only match that score, losing nine wickets.

Nick Tomlin and Nikul Patel got Overton out of a sticky situation away at St Cross Symondians IV. Chasing 204-7, Overton were in trouble when the seventh wicket went down but Tomlin (66 not out) and Patel (64 not out) guided the visitors to victory.

AWE Tadley were bowled out for 165 at home to Michelmersh and Timsbury, going on to lose by three wickets.

Hook and Newnham Basics II are up to fourth in Division One after beating hosts Ventnor II by 11 runs.

Sam Bruin made 92 and Andrew Darmondy 75 as the visitors were bowled out for 236 and while Ventnor got close, Will Gee took 3-42 as they were dismissed for 225.

Nick Cooper starred with both bat and ball as Old Basing beat visiting Amport by 108 runs in Division Two.

He anchored the Basing innings with an unbeaten 65 as the hosts reached 224-6, before taking 5-31 as Amport were dismissed for 116.

Basingstoke and North Hants III lost by 94 runs away at Hungerford. Chasing 288-6, Callum Coombs made 65 for the visitors, but they could only reach 194-6.

Oakley enjoyed a win over visiting Andover III. Gerry Dique took 5-34 as Oakley bowled the visitors out for 168, a total they chased down to win by six wickets.

Whitchurch did not fare so well, losing by 63 runs at home to Dinton. Simon Ralph took 3-39 and Toby Trinder 3-47 as the visitors were bowled out for 219, but Whitchurch could only make 156 in reply.
