HARTLEY Wintney went down by four wickets at promotion rivals OTs and Romsey, after being bowled out for 127.

Visiting captain Danny Plume won the toss and elected to bat at Romsey Sports Centre, but they soon had the Kerr brothers Will and Jonathan back in the pavilion with just 27 scored.

Top scorer Henry Collier (45) and Plume (20) added 40 for the third wicket and then Collier ad Jamie Teale (19) got Hartley to 98.

However, at this point Romsey bowlers Robert Newman (4-13) and Peter Newman (2-14) ripped through the Hartley batting line-up reducing them to 106-9.

It was left to last pair Dan Reynaldo (12 not out) ad Mark Teale (6) to put on 21 for the last wicket as Hartley were all out for 127.

The Romsey reply started well enough, before James Beckwith bowled opener Ian Woodhall (13) and soon after Jamie Teale trapped Charlie King leg before to make it 29-2.

Nicholas Destefano (27) and skipper Robert Newman (36) set about pushing the home side towards victory.

The visiting bowlers hit back as Mark Teale and Collier took two wickets to reduce Romsey to 111-6.

It was let to Joseph Vaughan with an unbeaten 21 to guide the home side to victory.

Next weekend, fourth placed Hartley have a really big game as they entertain Sparsholt, who are one place above them.
