THE Basingstoke Bison completed their National Cup campaign with a 5-3 victory over the visiting Telford Tigers, as they came back from 2-0 down.

The Shropshire side had very much the better of the opening 20 minutes, as both Adam Jones and Rick Plant found a way past Dean Skinns in the home net.

The Herd hit back in the second session, with Dan Scott’s top shelf finish putting them in touch.

The home side took just 91 seconds of the final period to level things from Dan Davies.

The Bison then took the lead on the powerplay as Davies netted his second of the evening.

Scott McKenzie replied for the Tigers to make it 3-3 at 54:23.

However, just 53 seconds later, the Herd took the lead again from Stuart Mogg, It then became 5-3, thanks to South One’s Player of the Month for December Aaron Connolly.

The Tigers pulled their netminder with 55 seconds left in the contest, but were unable to add to their tally.

The Bison return to league action this evening, with a trip to the Bracknell Bees, as they look to remain top of South One.
