HISTORY will be made this Saturday, when Basingstoke RFC men and ladies teams serve up a double header of league action at their Pack Lane home.

The Ladies are first in action at 1pm, with the men taking to the field at 3pm with both sides facing visitors Teddington.

The men will be looking to make it five wins on the trot in London Three South West, which has seen them move up to fourth nine points behind leaders Eastleigh.

Captain Robbie Northcote said: “We are looking forward to playing at home this weekend, I think as a team we all enjoy running out at home with the support of our friends, family and club members.

“It’s an extra special weekend with the ladies kicking off at 1pm followed by us.”

Ladies head coach Steve Parker said: “The team are very excited about Saturday. It’ll be free entry for the Ladies game, we encourage everyone to come down and watch what will be a good game against a tough, experienced Teddington side.”

The Ladies warmed up for Saturday’s encounter with their first league win since reforming with a 42-0 victory over visiting Harpenden Ladies.

Stoke’s opening score came after scrum half Sheree Cooper fed Michelle Pickard who offloaded to Hannah Balson and threw a great pass which was well taken by Amy Robson who danced through a tackle and scored.

Their next try came from tight head Emily Richardson which Pickard converted and a third score came from no 8 Jade Ashford.

By half-time the home side led 27-0 as Annie McMullan scored her first try for the club and then Player of the Match Richardson shook off a couple of tackles to score her second try of the game.

The Ladies sixth try came from full back Emma Horner after a great off load from flanker Spuddy Pearce.

Ashley Hunter was the next to score as she crashed over for her debut try and Pearce completed the superb 42-0 victory, as she picked up the ball from a ruck and went over.
