BASINGSTOKE RFC were unable to stop KCS Old Boys maintaining their 100 per cent start to their London Two South West campaign, as they were beaten 34-12 by the visitors to Down Grange.

The Old Boys took seven minutes to open their account and half an hour later, they had collected the bonus try and led 24-0.

Stoke hit back and winger Matt Woodhouse for the second week running went over for a try, which Hughes converted.

However, the visitors added another score to their tally for a half-time lead of 29-7.

The second 40 minutes was a lot closed with only one score for each team.

The Old Boys scored first, before Taniform Tala went in for an unconverted try.

Stoke will hope it is third time lucky next weekend, when they travel to fourth placed Effingham and Leatherhead.

They lost at London Cornish 31-25 on Saturday, after opening their campaign with a 25-10 home victory over Andover.
