NORTH Hampshire athletes enjoyed plenty of success at the opening match of the 2015-16 Hampshire Cross Country League season.
Several members of both Basingstoke and Mid Hants and Overton Harriers travelled to Farley Mount, near Winchester, to take part in the event.
Basingstoke’s Alex Hamilton was on top form, winning the veteran men’s category, with Overton’s Sean Holmes and Lee Tolhurst fourth and eight respectively.
Jermaine Mays was ninth in the senior men’s race, James Beeks was the seventh under-17 home, Ben Pattison was 10th in the under-15 event and Cameron Coveny finished eighth in the under- 13 race.
Overton’s Cath Wheeler was the seventh veteran woman home, while Maddie Deadman was sixth in the under-17 event, with Rebecca Bullock seventh in the under- 15 race.
