VISITING runner Tony Carter won the latest edition of Basingstoke Parkrun last Saturday.
Carter, from Newcastle's Tyne Bridge Harriers, completed the five-kilometre course around War Memorial Park in 17min 41sec to beat Basingstoke and Mid Hants' Tim Ellis by five seconds.
James Wooton (Bath Triathlon Club) was third in 18:11, while Kate Towerton (Winchester and District) was the fastest lady.
Basingstoke Parkrun is a free, timed 5km race that takes place in War Memorial Park at 9am each Saturday. Visit parkrun.org.uk/parkrun for more information.
