It was a hard-earned win, with Gosport and Fareham causing plenty of problems and defending well. Basingstoke deserved to win though and the margin of victory may have been greater but for some handling errors.

Basingstoke try - 'Stoke collect a lineout and feed fly-half Andrew Humberstone, who bounces off a couple of tackles to break the gain line. He then offloads to full-back Ashley Paterson, who wriggles past several would-be tacklers to touch down under the posts, with Humberstone adding the extras.
