TOTALLY Tennis completed an outstanding season in the Basingstoke and District Tennis League by becoming the new men's champions.

Defending champions Kingsclere rounded off their season with a 6-2 win over Old Basing A, while RSF A moved out of the relegation positions with a 6-2 win at bottom club Waverley A.

As predicted, Odiham A took the division two title and will play in the top flight next season. In their final two matches they beat Aldermaston A 6-2 and drew with Overton A.

Ashley Natrass and Ben Stocker maintained their excellent form over the season and were unbeaten in both matches.

In the closest division of all, BDH A claimed the runners-up spot as Aldermaston A's first win of the season - 5-3 at Preston Candover - denied the home side.

Overton A beat Aldermaston 6-2, thanks to a Mark Swinscoe and Sean McDonald maximum.

Totally Tennis B had already secured the division three title with a 100 per cent record. Beechdown A and Overton B fought out a close draw.

Old Basing B and Totally Tennis D could not be separated and will share the division four crown. They played each other in their last game of the season, which ended in a draw.

Hook lost 6-2 to Old Basing B but had three good wins - 7-1 at BDH B, 6-2 over Goodworth Clatford and 7-1 against Mortimer. John Whitby and Anthony Haffey won all their sets in the BDH and Mortimer matches.

The division five title went to Oakley B and the division six champions are newcomers Winchester, with some excellent matches in both divisions.

Andover A retained their women's crown after another unbeaten season. RSF A moved into second spot after a 6-2 win at Andover B.

Oakley A drew their final match of the season with RSF B in division two, which gave the title to Goodworth Clatford A on set difference.

Hook moved out of the relegation zone after a 5-3 win against Totally Tennis B and a 7-1 verdict over Beechdown. Jill Vaughan teamed up with Maddy Lawson and then Jean Deverill to remain unbeaten in both matches.

Division three went down to the wire, with long-time leaders Overton slipping up in their final match at second-placed Preston Candover to give the home side the title. Lindsey Trotter and Judith Day were again unbeaten.

Old Basing B took the division four title. Oakley B beat Odiham 5-3 in their final match, thanks to a maximum from Diane Yarrall and Hilary Loble.

Totally Tennis are also the new mixed champions after a faultless season. They beat Overton A 6-2 and, in their final match, they beat defending champions Andover A 6-2, thanks to an unbeaten partnership from Daniel Cole and Liezl Jacobs in both matches.

Overton A also lost to BDH 6-2, who went on to beat Calleva A 6-2.

Calleva A finished with draws against Old Basing A and Oakley A. Jon Corallo hit an excellent maximum in both games after teaming up with Carol Haggith and then Karen Mackenzie.

Andover B won the division two title, with Waverley the best of the rest after a hard-fought draw with Odiham A, for whom Jill Vaughan and Jim Thompson won all their sets.

Odiham also beat Goodworth Clatford in their final game of the season 7-1.

Old Basing B had already claimed the division three title and Preston Candover finished second after a 5-3 win at Beechdown B.

Odiham B took the division four crown, while Whitchurch claimed their first point with a draw at Sherborne. Ellen Dennett and Louis Morris won all their sets.

RSF A comfortably won the division five title, dropping just one set. Hook B drew with Old Basing C, with Chris and Jim Webb unbeaten for Old Basing.
