CIARAN Long scored his first ever Basingstoke Bison hat-trick as a depleted Herd came from behind to win 5-4 at the Sheffield Steeldogs on Tuesday night.

The home side’s Edgar Bebris scores the only goal of the first period.

The Steeldogs then doubled their advantage as man-of-the-match Lloyd Gibson nets, before Ciaran Long makes it 2-1 by the second buzzer.

The final period saw Gibson net his second, before the Bison scored twice in a minute from Chris Wiggins and Mindy Kieras tie the game.

The Bison then took the lead as Long scored his second, only for Scott Morris to make it 4-4.

Then in the final minute of the game, man-of-the-match Long grabbed his hat-trick goal to make sure of the Basingstoke win.
