AFC Aldermaston will host its first senior football tournament this summer.

The Aldermaston Invitational Trophy will take place at Aldermaston Recreational Society on Sunday, July 5.

Eight clubs from Step 4, 5 and 6 will participate in the pre-season contest, including Abingdon United, Harefield United, Marlow, Reading City, Tadley Calleva, Whitchurch United and Woodley United.

The tournament kicks off at 11am, with registration open from 10am.

Matches will be played across two pitches, leading to the Trophy Final and presentation ceremony later in the afternoon.

The teams will be divided into two groups of four, with a draw to be announced.

The top two from each group will go to the Trophy semi-finals, while the rest will enter the Plate competition.

Both finals are set to kick off at 3.35pm, with the trophy presentation at 4.15pm.

AFC Aldermaston says the tournament is a chance for teams to gain competitive match minutes as they prepare for the new season.

The club has invited supporters to join them for the day.

There will be a licensed bar, barbecue and refreshments available throughout the day.

Spectator admission is £5 for adults, £4 for concessions and free for under-16s.
