Basingstoke & Mid Hants athletes raked in 17 gold, 13 silver, and 14 bronze medals at the Hampshire County Championships.

With an impressive total of over 78 BMHAC athletes competing over the weekend on May 11 and 12, the club made a significant impact at the centennial event held at The Mountbatten Athletics Track in Portsmouth.

Among those stealing the limelight was Tobi Adeniran U13B who smashed two championship records in the Discus and Shot Put, placing him third nationwide.

He also nabbed gold in the 200m event.

The three-gold streak continued with Ethan Easton, who triumphed in the U15 boys Long Jump, High Jump, and the 100m race.

In the women's bracket, Charlotte Vickers and Emma King stood firm.

Vickers took home wins in both the 800M and 1500M in the U20 women's category.

Similarly, King secured two gold medals in the senior women's high jump and the 100m hurdles event, along with silver in the 100m race.

Henry Christer, a recent debutant for Team GB at the U20 Loughborough International Athletics event, produced a season's best of 10.81 seconds to finish runner-up in the 100M run.

With the Paris Olympics looming and less than 100 days away, prominent club athletes are making strong cases for inclusion in the GB squad.

Notably, Ben Pattison, World & Commonwealth Bronze medallist over 800M, began his track season in Morocco with a time of 1.44.75.

In the USA, Reece Sharman-Newell posted an excellent 1.45.49 at the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix.
