RELEGATION threatened Basingstoke & North Hants II sniffed a precious Southern Premier Division 3 victory when they reduced Gosport Borough to 127-7 at May's Bounty.
But even though they managed to dismiss Lee Harrop (67), who threatened to win the game on his own for the visitors, Gosport chissled off the remaining 30 runs they required to pass Basingstoke's 156 all out, albeit eight wickets down.
Steve Bucksey (29), Harith Jayakody (26) and Matt Donaldson (23) top scored for Basingstoke, who lost wickets at regular intervals as 58-3 became 115-6 and later 156 all out.
Tyler Bradley hit 14 but then saw his five overs struck for 31 runs as Harrop hit 14 boundaries in his 67 which proved a match winner for Gosport.
