THE Cyril Thompson Trophy semi-final line-up is now complete after Aldermaston Rugby and East Woodhay won their quarter-final clashes.

The rugby boys won their game by four wickets against Yateley, who batted first and made 117-5.

Cam Hume top scored with 48 not out and was well supported by Elgan Howells with 21. Rakita Perera 2-8 and Harith Jayakody 2-11 were the chief wicket takers.

Jayakody then led the way with the bat for Aldermaston Rugby with an unbeaten 31 with Yam Thapa chipping in with 26. Yateley’s top bowler was Andre Pienaar with 3-14.

East Woodhay also enjoyed a four wicket success after putting Chawton into bat.

They scored 139-7 with Cameron Hamer 58 and Callum Bachelor 43 getting the bulk of the runs. Kev Mills 2-23 and Henry Chapman 2-27 took over half of the wickets.

In reply, a fine 86 from Ben Hummels and 24 from Richard Dando ensured a winning total of 142-6. Max Williams 2-30 and Hamer 2-21 were the pick of the Chawton bowlers.

The semi-finals take place next week with Oakley taking on Aldermaston Rugby on Monday August 1 and then East Woodhay battle it out with Stratfield Turgis and Hartley Westpall on Tuesday August 2.

Both games start at 6pm and take place at May’s Bounty.
