THE Basingstoke Bison have added even more firepower to their line-up with the double re-signing of Paul Petts and George Norcliffe, writes GRAHAM MERRY.

Petts is back for a fourth full season with the Herd having come through the junior ranks of the team.

The 24-year-old from Gosport was part of the Bison’s double winning side in season 2017/18.

He may not be a prolific scorer, but is an important member of the team, who gives 100 per cent every shift.

Norcliffe is returning for a third straight campaign for the Herd. In his two previous years with the Bison he returned 49 points hitting the net 29 times.

The Guildford-born 27-year-old is a solid offensive player who chips in with important goals.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait is delighted with his double re-signing and said: “Pettsy is a role player and someone you can slot into the line-up anywhere. He always plays within the system which is great for me as a coach.

“Norcs is someone who has improved every season for us and I cannot see why this will not happen again. He is a good skater who is able to drive his way to the net.”

The Herd fans will not have to wait long to see both British forwards in action for the Bison as their season opener is at home to the Raiders on Saturday, September 11.
