BASINGSTOKE Town’s game against Didcot will not go ahead as planned on Saturday, after a positive case of COVID-19 “within the first team group”.
The game had been due to take place at the Winklebury Stadium at 2pm on Saturday afternoon.
A statement from the club said: “We will continue to follow the Government and Southern League guidance over the associated time period. We of course wish the player in question a very speedy recovery and we will support the group in any way we can.
“Sadly this does mean that Saturday’s fixture with Didcot will be cancelled, who have been notified.
“Any tickets bought in advance will be refunded – please allow four to six days for funds to return in your account, any queries thereafter please contact treasurer@btfc.co.uk.”
The club said it will not be naming individuals who have tested positive, and ask that their privacy is respected.
