TOTTENHAM are ‘confident’ of singing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.
It also suggests that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will have to offload players in order to raise funds to land the Danish international.
Saints have put a £35million price tag on Hojbjerg’s shoulders, although Tottenham chief Daniel Levy is famous for his tough negotiating style.
The Telegraph also claims that Hojbjerg is keen on a move to north London and wants to link up with Mourinho.
Mourinho is desperate to bolster his midfield despite the club splashing out £55m plus add ons to sign Tanguy Ndombele last summer.
Spurs, according to the Telegraph’s report, want to use Kyle Walker-Peters as bait in order to lower Saints’ asking price.
Walker-Peters arrived at St Mary’s on loan in January and has made just two appearances for the club.
After making his debut in February, the right back wasn’t used again before the coronavirus pandemic led to football being paused.
However, he made a triumphant return to action on Sunday, helping Saints win 3-1 away to Watford.
