RALPH Hasenhuttl made it clear the hard work won’t stop now Saints have 40 points on the board.

It’s the first time in three seasons that the St Mary’s side have reached the figure which all but guarantees their top-flight survival.

Following their convincing 3-1 win away to Watford on Sunday, Saints are just four points behind Sheffield United in eighth and three behind Arsenal who are in 10th.

“We are looking for the last six games and we know we can still take a lot of points,” Hasenhuttl said.

“We have this record run of away games, but we have to because our home record is going in the opposite way.

“It’s not interesting where we take the points, what’s important is that we take them.

“We can enjoy these games because we have 40 points but it’s important for us that we take as many points as possible.

“We can climb a few steps in the table and hopefully we will do it.”
