BASINGSTOKE Town are down to the bare bones Saturday’s home clash at Winchester City when Willand Rovers are the visitors.

Midfielders Ben Cook and Simon Dunn along with forward George Hallahan all picked up knocks in last Saturday’s loss at Thatcham, while captain Dean Stow is suspended.

Manager Dan Brownlie is working hard to bring in some reinforcements for his side and has already added new striker Conor Lynch on loan from National League South side Hungerford.

Brownlie said: 2We are down to the bare bones for Saturday’s game with the number of fit players we have, but we will go out there and do the best we can.

“The addition of Conor is certainly going to help and gets some goals for us.”

On Tuesday night, the Dragons have another home game when Thatcham Town are the visitors and the home side will be keen to wipe out the memory of the 8-0 loss last Saturday against the same side in Berkshire.

Looking back on that game, Brownlie said: “This result really hurt me and the performance was really lacking, which had not been the case in the previous two games. It was very disappointing and I hope the players will learn from it.”
