Camrose AC went to an in form Whitehouse Lake on Sunday last, where Paul (The Enforcer) Follington fished with pole and maggot to land 50lb 14oz of carp, Colin Thomas employed a similar tactic for his 42lb 5oz of carp, John Ambrose put the method feeder to good use for his 33lb 6oz carp bag, whilst Chris (Rabbit) Barratt caught 22lb 13oz of bream. Fourteen fished and caught.

Fourteen Adventure AS members fished a silver fish match at Watmore Farm on Sunday last, Steve Pawson topped the weights with 21lb 2oz of roach and skimmers on pole and caster, Mick Fordham pole and magged it for his 20lb 8oz again roach and skimmers, Steve Palmer put 17lb 10oz in the sack for third spot followed by Kevin Smith’s 17lb 2oz. The newly stocked skimmer bream put in an appearance on certain pegs but as they spread out catches can only improve.

Kennet Ospreys went to a hit and miss Dandys Ford last Sunday where it was a hit for Gerry Nickells who caught seven carp on pole and corn for 24lb 10oz, I caught some fish for once and made second spot with 16lb 10oz of carp on pole and worm, Steve Hunt utilised poles and soft pellet for his 13lb 10oz catch. Fourteen fished and some caught but some didn’t.

This coming Sunday puts Adventure on Milton Pools for another silver fish match, Camrose are going to New Barlows Lake whilst Kennet Ospreys are on Willow Park Middle Lake.

With the river season finishing on 14th March spare a thought for the traditionalists who don’t fish carp venues, for they have not been able to wet a line due to most flowing venues being unfishable for several weeks now.
