THE Basingstoke Bison want to get back to winning ways this weekend when they entertain the Leeds Chiefs On Saturday night (6.30pm).

The visitors have yet to lose in Hampshire this season winning a double header in Basingstoke in December.

On Sunday night (5.15pm) the Herd are away to the Milton Keynes Lightning.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: “Last time Leeds packed the bus and hit us on the break and won both games. This time we have to make sure we win.”

Last Sunday, the Bison were beaten 8-7 in overtime at the Swindon Wildcats.

This was the despite the Herd scoring after 89 seconds from George Norcliffe, but Swindon led 3-1 at 13:50 as Tomasz Malasinski, Chris Jones and Max Birbraer all scored.

Sean Norris then scored either side of the interval to level it 3-3.

Norcliffe and Alex Sampford then gave the visitors a two advantage, which was cut to one by the second break as man of the match Tyler Vankleef scored. Norcliffe completed an excellent hat-trick with the first goal of the final period to make it 6-4. Just 46 seconds later, Birbraer pulled a goal back and then Edgars Bebris tied the game at 46:05. Swindon's fifth powerplay goal from Nell made it 7-6, before Michal Klejna scored 42 seconds before the final buzzer to send the game into overtime.

It was left to Nell to score the winner at 64:18.
