TEENAGER Mickey Joyce has made history by becoming the first ever player to hit a century break in the Basingstoke Snooker League.
The 16-year-old from Winklebury knocked in 101 at the British Legion Club in Old Basing against Rick Bourne in a handicap singles competition which Joyce won 3-2.
The potting machine sponsored by the Academy Club said: “I am really happy to get his first century and the first in the Basingstoke League, but I never felt pressure to get one, because it still only wins one frame”.
Joyce is enjoying a great season helping England under-21s to the home international team glory and then travelled to Russia for the World under-16s.
Last month, in Malta for the world under-18s, he reached the last 32, being knocked out by the eventual winner, Yang Gao from China who is now a professional player.
Joyce is looking for more sponsors and can be contracted on email ejoyce13666@gmail.com
