THE Basingstoke Bison will hope to get back to winning ways this weekend, after they only picked up one point from their double header with Peterborough Phantoms .

This saw the Herd slip to fifth in the table, four points behind the Phantoms with two games in hand and level on points with fourth placed Hull Pirates who have played one game less then the Bison

This weekend, the Herd face a visit from the Raiders from Romford on Saturday night (6.30pm) and on Sunday (5.30pm) they travel to Bracknell.

Both sides are fighting it out for the final play-off place.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: "It was not ideal getting just one point last weekend, so we have to get back to winning quickly and i know we can with potential we have in this team.

"We are up against two sides this weekend that are fighting it put for the play-offs, so we know we are in for two tough games."

Last Sunday, Paul Petts scored his first goal of the season, but it was all in vain as the Bison lost 3-1 in Peterborough.

Petts scored the only goal of the first period and it was not until 31:53 when Petr Stepanek beat Bison man of the match Alex Mettam.

Phantoms man of the match Petr Stepanek then gave his side the lead at 43:35, before Glenn Billing added a late third goal.

Tait was dismissed in the final minute after the way the game had been run b the officials got the better of him.
