TADLEY Hockey Club men's team continued their unbeaten Hampshire Division Seven campaign last Saturday.
A full squad of 16 players, met at their home pitch at Bradfield College for an early start against Hamble thirds.
Having had five weeks off for the Christmas break fitness levels of some of the squad were wavering from the usual optimum levels.
The first half started with some rusty play from both sides. However, in the 11th minute Steve Lowther calmed the nerves of the home side by sweetly converting a drag flick from a short corner.
This was followed up by a slick interchange between Alan David Duncan and Stuart Wallace, with the former finishing in the 27th minute. to go 2-0 up.
Hamble responded at the start of the second half with Kieron King notching a decent effort bring the score to 2-1.
Alan David Duncan briefly thought he had grabbed his second goal of the game, only to be frustrated by a marginal, although ultimately correct decision by the umpire.
The latest victory saw Tadley maintain a seven point lead over Haslemere fifth team who are in second place.
Tadley’s continue their title quest this Saturday, when they away to Southampton fourth team.
