SUPER Sammy Argent will make his home return for Hartley Wintney as they take on the Met Police this Saturday.

The very popular striker re-singed for the club last week and made his debut in the 3-2 loss at Swindon Supermarine.

Argent, who lives in Basingstoke, was an integral part of the Hartley Wintney squad during its back-to-back championship wins in the Combined Counties League Premier Division, and then the club’s early foray in the Southern League.

He joined Basingstoke Town, then playing a division higher, in 2017/18 shortly after scoring the winning goal that put the Camrose club out of the FA Cup.

The striker spent a further season at Basingstoke before joining Gosport Borough for the start of this season.

Commenting on the signing, Hartley Wintney manager, Anthony Millerick, said: "We’re delighted to have him back with us and his availability came as a massive surprise. It was an option and opportunity we simply couldn’t turn down.

"Arg gave us many a decent season as we progressed from the lower levels and I’d like to think he plays his best when in Orange.”

Last Saturday at Swindon Supermarine recent signing Aaron Kuhl netted an equaliser and then Steve Duff scored in injury time. The home side's came from Harry Williams and a Conor McDonagh brace.
