ODIHAM ice hockey ace Emily Harris finished as Great Britain's under-18s leading goal scorer in the World Championship Division One tournament in Katowice, Poland.

The forward found the net three times for GB, who suffered a 5-1 defeat in a winner takes all clash in their last game of the tournament against hosts Poland and were relegated.

Norway took the gold medal and with it earned promotion.

The tournament had started well for GB as Harris scored twice in their opening game as they led 2-0 against China.

However, the game finished in heartbreak as the Chinese won 3-2 in overtime.

The following day, GB beat Korea 1-0 as Harris scored the winner with only 84 seconds left in the contest.

For the Odiham forward it was her third goal of the tournament, while netminder Ella Howard secured a 26-shot shutout.

In GB’s third game they went down to eventual gold medallists Norway’s under-18s 7-1.

Their only goal of the game came in the first period and was scored by Lucy Beal.

Norway led 3-1 after the first period and then added another four to take the win.

Game number four for GB saw them shut-out by Austria as they lost 3-0.

Two late third-period goals proved crucial for GB as Ella Howard was an inspiration in the GB goal, making 42 saves, while GB had some good chances at the other end with Chloe Headland and Harris in particular going close.
