BASINGSTOKE Town manager Dan Brownlie has added his first new face to his squad of 2020 in centre half Josh Edwards.

This is on hot on heels of goalkeeper Aaron Watkins, who made his debut on New Year’s Day.

The pair have both joined from Flackwell Heath and Edwards will make his debut on Saturday for the Dragons in a big basement battle at Barnstaple.

Then on Tuesday night, Town are at home to league leaders Thatcham Town at Winchester City.

Brownlie is looking to build a new spine to his team to get his side back on track, as they have lost their last four games.

The latest additions to the squad are sure to help as is the return of another defender Scott Armsworth.

Brownlie said: "Josh is talented centre back, who ticks all the boxes and Aaron has already proved himself as he has been our best player in the last two games. We just need to defend better in front of him."

"We are still searching for more players to build a good spine in the team as we look to start our move away from the bottom of the table."
