HARTLEY Wintney were knocked out of the Hampshire Senior Cup following a very open match against Bashley from the Wessex League, writes DAVID GRAHAM.

The New Forest side took the lead on five minutes from Harry McGrath and doubled their advantage on nine minutes from Harry Bunce.

On 32 minutes Hartley reduced the arrears. Sal Abubakar was hauled down in the penalty area and Jack French converted the resulting penalty.

Four minutes later an in swinging cross from Abubakar hit the post and came out.

The Row started the second half well and on 50 minutes Adam Cornell supplied Mickel Platt who fired over.

Two minutes later a cross from Cornell was headed over by Jordan Stepney.

Constant Hartley pressure was rewarded on 56 minutes when they pulled level. Jack French fed in Mickel Platt who shot home from the edge of the box.

Having got level the Row pressed the self destruct button on 63 minutes after trying to play out from the back. Bash gained possession and Harry Morgan to scored to make it 3-2.

The Row pulled level on 73 minutes. A free kick on the right from Ty Smith was headed home by Jack Ball.

However the visitors were not to be denied and scored the winner on 79 minutes. From a Hartley attacking situation the ball was cleared up field where the Bash fashioned an opening for Bunce to score the winner.
