KENNET Ospreys match at Bowsaw Lake saw Anthony Thomas put 181lb 14oz of carp in the sack for an easy win, opting to use the pellet waggler with a wafter on the hook, Anthony caught throughout the match, second place went to Keith Saunders with 110lb 3oz of carp falling to pole and pellet tactics, Simon (The God) Kiefer caught 90lb 5oz on pole and pellet whilst Steve Hunt caught 81lb 8oz to make up the frame. Eighteen fished and caught.

Camrose AC fished their match at Whitehouse Lake on Sunday last where Bryan Swindle caught 28lb 12oz of bream on pole and worm, Colin Thomas caught 25lb 8oz of tench, carp and bream on the pole and maggot, Chris (Rabbit) Barratt fished with pole and maggot for three carp weighing 19lb 6oz whilst Pat Finn’s 16lb 12oz of mixed made up the frame. Fourteen fished and weighed.

Adventure AS fished at New Barlows Lake last Sunday and Robin Guppy scored with 28lb 12oz of bream on pole and worm, match secretary Nick Sargent caught bream and carp on pole and worm for his 15lb 12oz, Mark Blackmon’s 14lb 8oz of carp was a pole and maggot affair. Twelve fished and caught.

This coming Sunday puts Adventure AS on Gold Valley Syndicate Lake, Camrose will be at the prolific Cheriton Farm, Kennet Ospreys will be at Court Farm Middle Lake whilst Oxoid AC are on Whitehouse Lake.

Not so long ago the fixtures secretarys job in fishing clubs was a bit of a breeze, come September or October he or she would look at the following year’s calendar and book venues accordingly. Now with the glut of smaller clubs and the demise of bigger orgnisations, there are many more demands for venues, hence clubs have to book two or three years in advance to secure the better waters, Staceys Supremo Keith Brown tells me that 2022/23 season bookings are filling up rapidly, enquiring further afield on the big angling complexes the story is the same. So don’t lose out, get booking.
