THE Basingstoke Bison will be buzzing to get back to winning ways, when the arch local rivals the Bracknell Bees come to town on Saturday (6.30pm).

The Herd opened their league campaign with a 7-5 win over Telford, then lost 8-3 to the Raiders.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait is looking for a reaction from his players after the big loss said: “The performance against the Raiders was unacceptable. We were lacking in our work rate and desire. This has to change.”

For Saturday’s derby clash, the Bison will be without Oscar Evans, injured last Saturday and fellow British forward Hallam Wilson is a doubt after being forced out of Sunday’s game.

On Sunday night (5.30pm), the Herd are on their travels to the Peterborough Phantoms to face a side who have yet to concede on home ice this season, having beaten the Bison 4-0 and Bees 3-0.

Also on Sunday in Basingstoke, the Buffalo entertain Solent in a game which has a 6.15pm face-off.

The Buffs will be hoping to built on their opening day 6-3 victory over the Cardiff Fire which saw Jack Peacock bagged a hat-trick. Cam Buckle got a brace after captain Neil Leary opened the scoring
